Ghoema - The Musical
11 November 2005 - 7 January 2006
David Kramer and Taliep Petersen have created an exciting new musical revue
called Ghoema which celebrates and explores the musical heritage of the Cape.
The ghoema is a barrel-shaped drum unique to the Cape and Ghoema is a dynamic
production that explains the songs created through Africa' s fusion with the
East and the West - the cultural breyani stirred up in the bowl between the
mountains and the sea. It's a celebration of South African songs that form
part of our musical heritage.
